Kushi, which translates to “happiness,” is a 2001 Indian Telugu romantic comedy film that was written, directed, and produced by A. M. Rathnam. The movie, in which Pawan Kalyan and Bhumika Chawla appear, is a remake of his own Tamil-language original of the same name. Music and the soundtrack were created by Mani Sharma.
When Madhu and Siddhu are born, the movie begins. Siddhu’s family comes from Kolkata, while Madhu’s family is situated in Kaikaluru, Andhra Pradesh. Madhu and Siddhu first encounter each other as infants at a mall. Madhu and her father have a deep fondness for one another. In order to prevent his daughter from leaving him, Madhu’s father intended to keep his son-in-law with them and encourage Madhu to be married. However, her fiance leaves the wedding with his girlfriend and apologises to Madhu for not wanting to ruin the happiness of another girl.
After receiving a visa to pursue higher education in Canada, Siddhu’s automobile was involved in an accident on the way to the airport, which required him to spend some time in the hospital. He unintentionally gets Madhu’s blood. Madhu persuades her father to pursue more education rather than worry about getting married. Sidhu enrols in the same college as Madhu after being unable to travel to Canada. By chance, they cross paths in a temple. In addition to becoming close friends, they aid the infatuated Shanti, a friend of Madhu, and Babu, a friend of Siddu. Madhu and Siddhu make sure that Shanti and Babu don’t confess their love to Shanti’s father and cause any trouble because Shanti’s father is a notorious goon. Siddhu shows up one day when Madhu is preparing for examinations. The air causes Madhu’s sari to sway, exposing her navel. Siddhu gawks at it. Siddhu denies ogling when Madhu accuses him of doing so. They start arguing and accuse one another of lying about their affections for the other. Their friendship is over.
When the summer break is over, Shanti’s father learns about Babu. For the benefit of their friend’s affection, Madhu and Siddhu cross paths once more. Babu and Shanti come to understand their love for one another while working to get them together. They make an effort to confess to one another but fail, but they are still able to offer their fellow passengers the letter as they exchange letters. Ten years later, Madhu and Siddu are still together and have seventeen kids, including triplets and additional twins. Their Guinness World Record of having 17 children in ten years is the subject of an interview.
