Sai Kumar

Biography:

Indian actor Sai Kumar, popularly known as Saikumar, performs in Malayalam movies. He is the son of the late Kottarakkara Sreedharan Nair, a Malayalam actor. He plays both good and bad characters. Notably, he portrays the villain in Makkal Mahatmyam and the hero in Ramji Rao Speaking.

The actor Kottarakkara Sreedharan Nair and Vijayalakshmi Amma are the parents of Sai Kumar. He has seven sisters—two younger and five older. His older sister, actress Shobha Mohan, and nephews, Vinu Mohan and Anu Mohan, are all actors. He divorced from Prasanna Kumari, his first wife, in 2007. Their daughter from this union is named Vaishnavi. He later wed Bindu Panicker, an actress.

Sai Kumar began his professional life in theater. He was given the opportunity to play the lead in the movie Swathi Thirunal, but Anant Nag ultimately took it. He made his acting debut in the 1989 hit Ramji Rao Speaking. Sai Kumar and Rekha were both debutants who also served as the film’s directors, Siddique and Lal (Siddique-Lal). As a young actor, Sai Kumar made his acting debut in Vidarunna Mottukal from 1977. He began his career in comedic parts before transitioning progressively into character roles. His work in the 2007 film Anandabhairavi earned him the Kerala State Film Award for Second Best Actor.

Sai Kumar had an extremely successful year in 2005 thanks to his role as an older guy in Mammootty’s mega-hit Rajamanikyam. The filmmakers had to reconsider his cast of characters as a result. He portrayed the villain in Suresh Gopi’s comeback movie, Bharathchandran I.P.S. Since he drives the plot for the first 45 minutes before Suresh Gopi emerges, he defined the part as an anti-hero rather than a villain. In the Suresh Gopi movie The Tiger, he also appeared in a supporting role as DYSP Pothen.
He provided the voiceovers for Thiagarajan in Thilakkam and Sathyaraj in Aagathan.

He received praise for his portrayal of a Kathakali artist and the father of a gifted but ill boy in Anandabhairavi in 2007. Vinayan,He was compared to Mohanlal by director Vinayan, which is the highest praise for his acting prowess.
