Amanchi Venkata Subrahmanyam, better known by his initials AVS and who died on November 8, 2013, was an Indian actor, comedian, producer, director, and journalist best known for his Telugu film career. A.V.S. was renowned for his comedic expressions and line delivery. In addition to winning four state Nandi Awards, including Best Comedian and Best Character Actor, he has starred in more than 500 feature films.
AVS was born on January 2, 1957, in Tenali, Andhra Pradesh’s Guntur district. Director Bapu’s 1993 picture Mister Pellam served as his entry into the film industry. He rose to fame as a comedic actor in Telugu cinema because to this movie. He got numerous honors for his performance, including the Nandi Award from the government of Andhra Pradesh. For both movies and TV shows, he received numerous private and governmental accolades. He produced two films: Uncle and Ori Nee Prema Bangaaram Kanu…! and directed four films, namely Super Heroes, Ori Ni Prema Bangaaram Kaanu..!, Roommates, and Kothimooka. He served three terms as the Movie Artists Association’s general secretary.
For a few days, AVS experienced renal and liver damage. In 2008, he underwent a liver transplant. At his son’s home in Manikonda, Hyderabad, on November 8, 2013, he passed away from multiple organ failure.
