Story:

“Papanasam,” directed by Jeethu Joseph, is a gripping 2015 Indian Tamil crime thriller and a remake of the 2013 Malayalam film “Drishyam.” The film centers around Suyambulingam, played by Kamal Haasan, a middle-class cable TV operator in Papanasam, Tamil Nadu. His family becomes embroiled in a crime when Varun Prabhakar, the son of Inspector General Geetha Prabhakar, goes missing after harassing Suyambulingam’s elder daughter.

The plot unfolds as Suyambulingam orchestrates an elaborate cover-up to protect his family. The family faces brutal interrogation by Constable Perumal, but Suyambulingam remains resilient.

The story takes unexpected turns as Meena, Suyambulingam’s younger daughter, reveals the false burial location, exposing the cover-up. The film concludes with Geetha resigning, and Suyambulingam, feeling a sense of guilt, cryptically admitting to Varun’s accidental death.
