Biography:

Shanthi Williams is an Indian actress known for her work in both film and television, particularly in Tamil and Malayalam productions. She embarked on her acting career at a young age, making her debut as a child artist when she was just 12 years old. Her initial foray into the film industry began with the movie “Vietnam Veedu” in 1970. Subsequently, she transitioned to television serials in 1999, where she primarily took on second lead and supporting roles.

One of her most notable portrayals on television is her role as the traditional mother in the popular serial “Metti Oli.” Shanthi Williams has displayed her versatility by working in both Tamil and Malayalam films, earning recognition for her performances. Notably, director K. Balachander awarded her the title of Best Actress in a negative role for her character in “Thendral,” where she portrayed Tamizharasu’s mother.

Born in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, Shanthi Williams hails from a Malayali background. In 1979, she tied the knot with J. Williams, a Malayali cameraman, and they have four children together. Her enduring career in the entertainment industry has made her a respected figure in both Tamil and Malayalam cinema and television.
