Praveena

Biography:

Praveena is an Indian actress and dubbing artist, primarily known for her work in Malayalam television series and films, with a few appearances in Tamil series and films. She is particularly renowned for her portrayal of Goddess Durga Devi in the series Devi Mahathmyam.

Her acting career began with the 1992 film “Gowri.” Over the years, she has received numerous accolades, including the Kerala State Film Award for Second Best Actress for her roles in the movies “Agnisakshi” (1998) and “Oru Pennum Randaanum” (2008). Praveena has also earned recognition as the Kerala State Film Award winner for Best Dubbing Artist for her contributions to the films “Elektra” (2010) and “Ivan Megharoopan” (2012).

Praveena was born to parents Ramachandran Nair and Lalithabai. Her father is a retired college professor, and she has an elder brother named Pramod Nair, who works as a software engineer in the United States. She is married to Santhosh M. Nair, a businessman based in Kerala. Following her marriage, she took a brief break from acting, and the couple has a daughter together.
