Saranya Mohan is a former Indian actress known for her work in Malayalam and Tamil cinema, with appearances in Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi films as well. She is most acclaimed for her roles in movies like “Yaaradi Nee Mohini” (2008), “Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu” (2009), “Eeram” (2009), “Velayudham” (2011), and “Osthe” (2011). Born to parents who are trained classical dancers and run a dance school, Saranya also learned Bharatanatyam at Y.K.B Dance Academy in Alappuzha. She pursued her education, earning a degree in English literature and later completing an MA and MFA in Bharatanatyam.
Saranya’s career began as a child artist, with her talent catching the eye of director Fazil, who cast her in several Malayalam and Tamil films. After a hiatus for studies, she returned to the industry and gained prominence with her role in “Yaaradi Nee Mohini.” She appeared in numerous Tamil and Malayalam films, including hits like “Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu” and “Eeram.” She also ventured into Telugu cinema with “Village Lo Vinayakudu” and made her debut in Kannada with “Ee Bhoomi Aa Bhanu.”
In her personal life, Saranya married Dr. Aravind Krishnan in 2015, and they have two children, a son named Anantapadmanabhan Aravind and a daughter named Annapoorna Aravind. Her career has been marked by a versatile portfolio across multiple South Indian film industries, and she even made her Bollywood debut in the Hindi remake of “Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu” titled “Badlapur Boys.” As of 2015, she had completed work on the Tamil film “Suyam,” which was yet to be released.
