Ullozhukku

Story:

Christo Tomy is the writer and director of the 2024 Indian drama film Ullozhukku, which is in Malayalam. Arjun Radhakrishnan, Alencier Ley Lopez, Prashanth Murali, and Jaya Kurup play supporting parts in the movie, which stars Urvashi and Parvathy Thiruvothu.

In 2018, the movie’s screenplay took first place in the Cinestaan India Storytellers Contest. When it was released on June 21, 2024, the movie received overwhelmingly positive reviews from critics, particularly for Urvashi’s performance. At the box office, the movie was a mediocre success.

The flooded areas of Alappuzha, Kerala, India, are the setting for the movie. Thomaskutty and his wife, Anju, reside with Thomaskutty’s mother, Leelamma. Thomaskutty is dying from a chronic illness. Anju and Rajeev, her longtime lover, are having an affair. After Anju’s parents found out about her relationship with Rajeev, she was compelled to wed Thomaskutty.

Anju discovers she is carrying Rajeev’s child. Meanwhile, Thomaskutty suffers from a serious illness and dies. The rain delays the funeral and causes floods in the area. Anju confesses that the child is not Thomaskutty’s after Leelamma confronts her about her affair. Thomaskutty’s sister, aunt, and Anju’s parents quickly learn the truth. Anju learns that before to the marriage, her mother concealed Thomaskutty’s condition from her.

After the burial, which is continually being postponed, Anju wants to move out and live with Rajeev. The main focus of the film is how she persuades everyone around her and how they respond.
