Siddique Ismail, is an Indian actor and producer primarily associated with the Malayalam film industry. He has an extensive career spanning over 350 Malayalam films and has also acted in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi movies. Siddique is renowned for his versatility, having played various roles, including comic characters, romantic leads, anti-heroes, and villains.
He made his debut in the film “Aa Neram Alppa Dooram” in 1985 but gained significant recognition with the comedy film “In Harihar Nagar” in 1990. This film’s success led to a series of similar low-budget comedy movies, where Siddique, along with co-stars Mukesh, Jagadeesh, and Asokan, became a prominent fixture. Throughout the early 1990s, he appeared in several comic roles in movies like “Godfather,” “Manthrikacheppu,” and “Simhavalan Menon.” However, his career trajectory shifted towards more serious roles in films like “Asuravamsam” and “Lelam.” He also ventured into villainous roles with movies like “Sathyameva Jayathe” (2001).
Apart from acting, Siddique has made contributions to television by anchoring musical programs and appearing in television serials. He also produced the successful film “Nandanam” in 2002, which introduced young talents like Prithviraj Sukumaran and Navya Nair. Siddique’s career continued to evolve, with appearances in various roles in films like “Chota Mumbai,” “Hallo,” and “Udayon.” Additionally, he initiated Kerala’s first family magazine called “Family Facebook” in 2011, where he serves as the editor, featuring stories about key figures in the Malayalam film industry.
