TheatreSnehamante Idera is a 2001 Telugu-language buddy comedy drama film directed by Balasekaran and produced by R.B. Chowdhary under the Super Good Films label. Shiva Shankar created the soundtrack, and it stars Nagarjuna Akkineni, Sumanth, Sudhakar, Bhumika Chawla, and Prathyusha. The comedic sequence in which apprentices circle a house is taken from the Tamil version of the film Friends, which is a replica of the Malayalam movie Friends. In 2007, a Hindi version called Naya Jigar was produced.
Plot
Since they were little children, Aravind (Nagarjuna Akkineni), Chandru (Sumanth), and Kimoo (Sudhakar) had been best buddies. They place a higher priority on friendship than they do on family. Aravind’s parents consider Chandru, an orphan who stays with them, to be a second son. Amrita (Prathyusha), Aravind’s sister, develops feelings for Chandru. Given that she is his best friend’s sister, Chandru is apprehensive.
Chandru turns to Krishna Murthy for assistance in avoiding Amrita. Following several run-ins with the law, Aravindan and Chandru are forced to hide out in Hyderabad for a few days, where they, together with Krishnamoorthy, accept painting jobs at a house under the supervision of contractor Bhavani Shankar (Brahmanandam), Krishnamurthy’s paternal uncle.
Although Padmini (Bhumika Chawla), the resident of the mansion, only views Aravind as a friend, she nevertheless feels a deep sense of gratitude for him after he saves her from an unintentional electrocution. But Padmini’s cousin Swathi (Abhinayashree) has a thing for Aravind, and when she finds out he’s in love with her Padmini, she gets mad.
He receives fictitious letters from Swathi purporting to be Padmini, leading him to feel that his affection is returned. Thus, when Padmini unexpectedly becomes engaged to another man, Chandru defends Aravind’s affections and humiliates Padmini in front of her family, leading to the annulment of her engagement. As a result, Padmini decides to wed Aravind but sever their connection with Chandru in order to get revenge on him.
However, after getting married, Aravind and Padmini come to understand that Chandru is innocent and that Swathi is to blame for all of the catastrophes that have occurred. Chandru and Padmini make up, and Amrita and Chandru are set to get married. Aravind’s cousin Gowtham (Sriman) harbors feelings for Amrita.
In order to wed Amrita, he intends to keep Aravind and Chandru apart. As Amrita is preparing food in the kitchen, he first lights her sari on fire. Despite Padmini’s innocence, Chandru holds Padmini responsible for the incident because she was in the kitchen with Amrita at the time. Despite this, nobody, not even Aravind, believes Chandru. Then, Gowtham turns his attention to the yearly bullock race in which Chandru is competing.
He does this by unfastening the wheels of Chandru’s cart in order to provoke a significant accident and accuse Padmini of being at fault. This causes a rift between Chandru and Aravind. Regretfully for Gowtham, Aravind chooses to compete in the race instead of Chandru because Chandru is getting married, and he succeeds in winning even though he uses a broken bullock cart.
Chandru claims Padmini is attempting to murder him. If Aravind does not kick Chandru out of the house and keeps him as a friend, Padmini threatens to move out of the house. Aravind then explains to her that he had accidently slain Chandru’s deaf-and-dumb younger brother (Master Abhinai) when they were children, which devastated him so much that he never informed anybody about it.
Ever since, he has been watching out for Chandru because he feels guilty about having no one else in his life. Chandru becomes enraged when Gowtham overhears their talk and tells him about it. After a fight, Chandru cancels their friendship with Aravind and departs the house. Aravind makes an effort to persuade Chandru to wed Amrita again, even if he is unable to mend their friendship.
But in the process, Aravind appears to perish after falling off a cliff. Despite his best efforts, Chandru believes he is to blame for Aravind’s downfall. Later on, Chandru understands that Aravind was not at fault and that his brother was killed by accident. After five years, Aravind’s claimed death has not been visited by Chandru, who is now a Major in the Indian Army.
In a letter, Kimoo informs him that Aravind is not dead but rather in a vegetative state, unable to speak and content to sit in a corner. With swift departure, Chandru heads to Aravind’s place, where he discovers, as a token of appreciation for their friendship, that Aravind and Padmini have a young son named Chandru.
When Gowtham discovers that Chandru has returned, he beats him up. Gowtham has been abusing Padmini and Amrita ever since Aravind entered a vegetative state. Aravind wakes up and defeats Gowtham and his henchmen upon hearing Chandru’s cries.
