Bobby Simha

Biography:

Bobby Simha, also known as Jayasimha (born November 6, 1983), is an Indian actor who primarily performs in Tamil and Telugu-language films with a few Malayalam-language productions. After making only fleeting cameos in the movies Pizza (2012) and Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Yeppadi, he played a kidnapper in Soodhu Kavvum by Nalan Kumarasamy and a comedic villain in Neram by Alphonse Putharen. Simha received praise for his subsequent portrayal in Karthik Subbaraj’s Jigarthanda (2014) as Madurai mobster Sethu, which earned him the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor.

Bobby Simha was born on November 6, 1983, to a Telugu-speaking family in Secundrabad, Andhra Pradesh (now Telangana). Simha’s family originally hails from Mopidevi in Andhra Pradesh’s Krishna District, but they relocated to Kodaikanal in 1995. He then finished his education at the Telugu-medium Priyadarshini Vidyalayam in Mopidevi, Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh, and went on to the Pioneer College of Arts and Science in Coimbatore for college.

He took part in the Naalaya Natchathiram event in Coimbatore in 2005, when the main speakers Sundar C and E. Ramdoss advised him to try his hand at acting in Tamil movies. Simha claimed that after accepting an offer to appear in a TV show in Chennai, he discovered he had been duped only after traveling there from Coimbatore. Simha later completed his degree and returned to Chennai with the intention of pursuing an acting career, but in order to meet his financial obligations, he ended up working in marketing, insurance, and business process outsourcing.
