Ammu

Story:

Ammu is a 2022 Telugu-language drama thriller film produced by Stone Bench Films and written and directed by Charukesh Sekar. On October 19, 2022, the movie, which stars Aishwarya Lekshmi, Bobby Simha, and Naveen Chandra in the lead roles, had its Amazon Prime Video debut. Aishwarya Lekshmi’s character Amudha, also known as Ammu, marries her neighbor Ravindranath, also known as Ravi (Naveen Chandra), a police inspector. When the newlyweds get to Maharanipalli, Ravi works as the station’s circle inspector of police. As long as they continue to love and support one another, the couple’s future appears bright. However, things quickly take a turn for the worst as Ravi gradually begins to treat Ammu harshly, passive aggressively, manipulatively, and cruelly, sometimes yelling at her and making her feel uncomfortable.

When Ammu’s parents are visiting them at Maharanipalli, Ravi smacks him for allegedly backtalking to him about a little matter, making the situation worse. Although Ravi apologizes and appeases Ammu, it is clear that he does not regret the slapping and only wants Ammu to keep this a secret from her parents. Later, when Ravi slapped her, Ammu tells her mother Kalpana (Parvathi T.) and seeks for advice. She should follow her instincts, according to her mother. Ammu makes the decision to remain silent and put up with Ravi’s irrational and brutal domestic abuse in the hopes that perhaps if she shows him enough love, he will cease abusing her.
