TheatreBangalore Days, written and directed by Anjali Menon in Malayalam, was remade as Bangalore Naatkal, an Indian comedy-drama film released in 2016 in the Tamil language and directed by Bommarillu Bhaskar. It narrates the narrative of three cousins who fulfill their childhood ambition of living and enjoying in Bangalore and stars Sri Divya, Bobby Simha, and Arya in an ensemble cast. In addition, Rana Daggubati, Parvathy Thiruvothu (returning to her original character), Raai Laxmi, Paris Laxmi, and Prakash Raj play important roles. Samantha Ruth Prabhu makes a brief appearance. The movie, which Prasad V. Potluri produced under his PVP Cinema brand, came out on February 5, 2016. In contrast to the first film, this one failed at the box office and garnered mediocre reviews.
The plot of the movie centers on three cousins who have been close from childhood: Divya “Ammu” Raghavan, Kannan “Kutty,” and Arjun “Ajju.” Kutty, a software engineer, nonetheless has his heart and soul in his hometown. Ajju is a bike mechanic who leads an independent life, having divorced parents. Following the grim prophecies of her family astrologer, Ammu is forced to marry workaholic corporate executive Shivaprasad “Prasad” despite her desire to get an MBA at IIM. Ammu relocates to Bangalore after their nuptials because Prasad has made his home there. For work, Kutty moves to Bangalore as well, and Ajju moves to the same city to work as a mechanic for a motorcycle gang.
