Pattukkottai Prabakar is a highly acclaimed Indian Tamil writer known for his exceptional contributions to the world of literature. Born on July 30, 1958, to Shri. V. Radhakrishnan and Smt. R. Chandra, he embarked on his literary journey after completing his Masters in Economics at St. Joseph’s College, Trichy. His debut as an author took place in 1977 when his work was first published in Ananda Vikatan, a significant milestone in his career.

Throughout his prolific career, Pattukkottai Prabakar has demonstrated his versatility as a writer, excelling in various forms of writing. He has authored over 250 short stories, more than 300 novels, and penned over 85 serial stories. His remarkable contributions have led to the publication of more than 200 special edition books by various publishers. His novels have been highly acclaimed, with his detective series “Bharath and Susila” earning particular popularity among his readers. Prabakar’s works have transcended language barriers, as they have been translated into other languages.

In addition to his work in print media, Pattukkottai Prabakar has made significant contributions to the world of screenwriting for both movies and television. He has worked as an assistant director and collaborated on scripts for Tamil films, including projects with director K. Bhakyaraj. Furthermore, he contributed to the script and dialogues of up to 25 Tamil films. His talents extended to television, where he played a role in creating the script for the first Tamil-language “mega-serial” called “Paramapadham” telecasted on Doordarshan.
