Biography:

Prasanna Venkatesan, widely known as Prasanna, is an accomplished Indian actor prominently active in the Tamil film industry, with occasional roles in Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada films. Beginning his successful journey with the film “Five Star” in 2002, produced by Mani Ratnam, Prasanna quickly established himself as a versatile actor. Notable films such as “Kannum Kannum,” “Anjathe,” “Kanda Naal Mudhal,” and “Naanga Romba Busy” showcased his range, with roles as both a protagonist and a villain. His performance in “Achchamundu! Achchamundu!” earned international acclaim, being screened at prestigious film festivals like Shanghai and Cairo International Film Festival.

Born in Tiruchirappalli, Prasanna’s interest in acting was apparent from an early age. He pursued his education at BHEL Matriculation Higher Secondary School and later studied electrical and electronics engineering at Saranathan College. His acting aspirations led him to respond to an open audition for Susi Ganesan’s “Five Star,” a decision that didn’t sit well with his parents. However, his dedication and talent soon became evident, marking the beginning of his successful acting career.

Over the years, Prasanna’s journey in the industry has been marked by diverse roles, from romantic leads to intense negative characters. He has delivered impactful performances in critically acclaimed films like “Anjathe” and “Kanda Naal Mudhal.” Not only has he achieved recognition for his on-screen contributions but his personal life also drew attention when he married fellow actress Sneha in 2012, after denying the possibility of marrying an actress during the filming of “Achchamundu! Achchamundu!” They are now parents to a son, Vihaan, and a daughter, marking a balanced personal and professional life for the talented actor.
