Riythvika Panneerselvam, popularly known as Riythvika, is a talented Indian actress primarily known for her work in Tamil cinema, where she often shines in supporting roles. Her journey from a college student to a recognized actress is an inspiring tale of dedication and perseverance.

Riythvika pursued her education at Justice Basheer Ahmed Sayeed College For Women (SIET) in Teynampet, Chennai. Her passion for acting dates back to her childhood when she dreamt of making a mark in the film industry. While at SIET, she actively participated in short films and even sent her photos to film public relations professionals (PROs), aspiring for an entry into the world of cinema.

Her breakthrough moment came when she was chosen by renowned director Bala for the film “Paradesi” (2013). In the movie, an adaptation of the novel “Red Tea,” she portrayed the challenging role of Karuthakanni, a young woman who undergoes torment and exploitation in the tea plantations during the British Raj. Her performance garnered attention and marked the beginning of her journey in the film industry.

Riythvika’s career gained momentum with her role in Pa. Ranjith’s “Madras” (2014), where she played a pivotal supporting character opposite Kalaiyarasan. Her portrayal of a North Chennai girl earned critical acclaim, leading to her winning the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress in Tamil. This success paved the way for her to be cast in roles that often depicted individuals from lower socio-economic backgrounds.

She continued to impress audiences with her versatile performances, appearing as a drug addict in “Kabali” (2016) and taking on challenging roles as a prostitute in “Iru Mugan” (2016), “Torchlight” (2018), and “Sigai” (2019). In addition to these roles, she portrayed a liberal radio jockey in “Oru Naal Koothu” (2016).
