Story:

Velaikkaran, translated as “Worker,” is a 2017 Indian Tamil-language action thriller directed and written by Mohan Raja, and produced by R. D. Raja under 24AM Studios. The film features Sivakarthikeyan, Fahadh Faasil, Nayanthara, Sneha, and Prakash Raj in pivotal roles, with supporting performances from Mahesh Manjrekar, Sathish, Thambi Ramaiah, RJ Balaji, Vijay Vasanth, Robo Shankar, and Rohini.

The storyline revolves around Arivazhagan, a conscientious sales executive portrayed by Sivakarthikeyan, who takes a stand against the food adulteration practices of elite corporations.

Released on December 22, 2017, the film received positive reviews, praising Fahadh Fassil’s acting, the engaging narrative, social commentary, screenplay, cinematography by Ramji, and Anirudh Ravichander’s music. Arivazhagan, also known as Arivu, hails from the impoverished Kolaikkara Kuppam in Chennai.

He initiates Kuppam FM 90.8, a local radio channel, to empower his community. Arivu’s journey involves confronting the local gangster Kasi, freeing his friend Bhagya from Kasi’s clutches, and eventually joining the sales department of Saffron, a leading FMCG company.

Tragedy strikes when Bhagya is attacked and killed in Saffron’s warehouse, revealing a conspiracy involving the company’s president, Jayaram. Driven by a quest for justice, Arivu takes on a mission to expose malpractices not only in Saffron but also in other major food companies.

However, his plans face challenges from Aadhi, Saffron’s brand manager, who turns out to be Adhiban Madhav, the son of Madhav Kurup, the owner of a rival company.

Aadhi manipulates the situation, framing Arivu as a spy for Madhav, leading to Arivu’s humiliation. The plot unfolds with Aadhi consolidating power and revealing his intention to produce adulterated products across multiple companies.

Despite setbacks, Arivu perseveres, rallying the support of Saffron’s employees to adhere to government regulations and produce quality goods. Aadhi’s deceit is exposed, and the film concludes with Arivu gaining widespread support and celebrating his victory with loved ones and the community.
