R. D. Raja began his work as a consultant for promotions. He promoted films including Jilla, Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga, Vazhakku Enn 18/9, Boss Engira Bhaskaran, and 7am Arivu. He served as the creative producer for films like Maan Karate, Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam, and Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga. As a full-fledged film producer for the first time in 2016, R. D. Raja made his debut 2016 with the critically acclaimed film Remo, which was directed by Bakiyaraj Kannan, a debutante. The film stars Sivakarthikeyan and Keerthy Suresh.
