Balaji Patturaj, better known by his stage name RJ Balaji, was born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on June 20, 1985. He is an Indian radio jockey, actor, television presenter, comedian, and film director. His most well-known roles include hosting The Night Show with RJ Balaji, Take it Easy, and its now-defunct section Cross Talk on 92.7 Big FM, where he played practical jokes on unsuspecting targets.
Originally a radio personality, Balaji is now involved in a variety of occupations. He is well-known for his work on the television programs Ungalil Yaar Adutha Prabhu Dheva and Why This Kolaveri, as well as for his roles in the movies Theeya Velai Seiyyanum Kumaru (2013), Vadacurry (2014), Naanum Rowdy Dhaan (2015), Pugazh (2016), and LKG (2019) .
Balaji was nurtured in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, and was born on June 20,[3] that year.[4] He has one younger brother and three younger sisters among his four siblings. He claimed that at some undisclosed time, his father left his family.[5] Balaji said to Sudhish Kamath in 2013 that while growing up in Chennai, he moved 24 times and attended 11 different schools because his “mother just cannot stay in one place.” She would relocate from Perambur to Thiruvanmiyur to Mylapore—never in the same location again.[4] When he was a college student, Balaji discovered that interacting with people was his strength. The praise and attention he received during his college cultural gave him confidence, and he understood that he needed to be in the media.
