Ramji, also recognized by the name Ram G, is an Indian dance choreographer and actor celebrated for his contributions primarily to Tamil cinema and television. He is prominently known for his appearances in popular shows like “Kasalavu Nesam,” “Ramany vs. Ramany,” and “Marmadesam.”
In addition to his acting roles, Ramji has made a significant impact as a dance choreographer, particularly in Tamil film dance sequences. His work in iconic songs such as “Vellarika” from “Kadhal Kottai,” “Easwara” from “Kannedhirey Thondrinal,” and “Nee Paathuthu Ponnalum” from “Paarvai Ondre Podhume” showcases his talent and contribution to the industry. In 2001, he had the opportunity to tour Japan as the lead actor in the Tamil musical “Thilana,” a project developed by Bharathan and scripted by Anita Raj and Kalyan.
While his film appearances slowed down over time, Ramji transitioned to television, where he hosted shows like “Dance Machi Dance.” Eventually, he accepted a role in the low-budget film “Madhavi” in 2009. Ramji’s commitment to raising awareness led him to feature in HIV awareness advertisements on South Indian television in 2010, portraying a character known as “Dhillu Durai.” He continued his acting journey with supporting roles, such as in Rama Narayanan’s “Kutti Pisasu,” alongside Sangeetha and Ramya Krishnan.
