Maya S Krishnan, a versatile talent in the Tamil film industry, is recognized as an actress, model, and singer. Hailing from Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India, Maya’s journey in the world of entertainment began with her schooling at TVS Lakshmi Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Madurai. Later, she pursued engineering at Amrita University School of Engineering in Bangalore. Maya, who was once a skilled child gymnast, achieved notable recognition by securing the 6th position in gymnastics during the Nationals. Her sister, Swagatha S Krishnan, is a prominent singer in the Tamil industry, showcasing the family’s artistic inclinations.

Maya made her entry into the world of theatre and film with her debut in James Vasanthan’s college musical film, “Vaanavil Vaazhkai” in 2015. This marked the beginning of a promising career where Maya, dedicated to her craft, even underwent a significant transformation by cutting her hair short to portray a singer in the film.

In her cinematic journey, Maya has played diverse roles, such as a reporter in “Thodari” (2016), and has appeared in notable films including “Dhruva Natchathiram,” “2.0,” “Magalir Mattum,” and “Server Sundaram.” Beyond the silver screen, Maya is a member of the Perch theater group, contributing to the stage play “Kira Kozhambu” alongside Ravindra Vijay and Anand Sami. This play, based on Ki. Rajanarayanan’s collection of short stories, has garnered acclaim, with the trio receiving praise for their seamless blend of art and entertainment during nearly 100 performances across the country.

In her personal life, Maya, who grew up in Madurai, once harbored an amusing childhood obsession with Tamil mega star Suriya, considering him her “boyfriend.” However, she now maintains a private personal life, away from the public eye.
