Following Jagadam, Ramesh pursued a number of opportunities and appeared in roughly 10 Telugu movies. Ramesh met the well-known Telugu actor Uttej at this time. Ramesh met renowned Telugu film director Krishna Vamsi thanks to Uttej. He was given the character of an alcoholic in Mahatma by Vamsi. The movie still stands as a significant turning point in his career.
