Story:

“Shahjahan” is a 2001 Tamil-language romantic drama film written and directed by Ravi and produced by R. B. Choudary. The movie features Vijay and Richa Pallod in the lead roles, with supporting performances by Krishna and Vivek. Released on November 14, 2001, with music composed by Mani Sharma, the film achieved commercial success.

The plot revolves around Ashok Ilango, a young man known as a “love doctor” who helps couples elope against their families’ wishes. Assisted by his close friends, Boopathi Ramaiyaa and Seenu, Ashok’s life takes a turn when he meets Uma Maheshwari, or “Mahee,” an engineering student, and falls for her. However, he chooses not to confess his love, opting to wait for her to reciprocate due to a traumatic past incident involving his friend Giri. In a flashback, it is revealed that Giri’s love for a Muslim girl named Aisha ended tragically when she took her life after Giri declared his love publicly, leading to her family’s humiliation and Giri’s mental instability.

Despite his own feelings for Mahee, Ashok selflessly assists his friend Raja in winning the heart of a mysterious girl, who turns out to be Mahee herself. When Mahee’s father discovers their relationship, Ashok helps them elope, unaware that Mahee is the woman he loves. The story unfolds with a series of emotional twists, culminating in a dramatic confrontation where Ashok is injured while ensuring Mahee and Raja’s safety. The film ends with a poignant scene where another man seeks Ashok’s help in pursuing the girl he likes, symbolizing Ashok’s unwavering commitment to uniting couples in love, even at the expense of his own happiness.
