Pushpa 2 is one of the most awaited films in Telugu cinema and has released in a record number of screens. Read our review to find out if the film lives up to all the hype created or not.
Story: The story kick starts from where the first part ends. Pushpa(Allu Arjun) is the new kingpin of the sandalwood smuggling. On the other hand, Shikhawat(Fahadh Fassil) is hellbent to get Pushpa arrested and close his empire. But Pushpa has other plans as he goes big and plans a political career ahead. In this journey, he faces a new enemy in the form of Pratap Reddy(Jagapathi Babu). The rest of the story is as to how Pushpa overcomes all his obstacles.
Performances: Once again, Allu Arjun has given one hell of a performance in Pushpa 2. You will be shocked to see his makeover and the command in the craft. Be it dances or fights, Allu Arjun has killed it with his swag. Rashmika Mandanna is also terrific in his role and gives a solid performance.
Fahadh Fassil as the main villain is terrific. He is cast perfectly as the bad guy and takes on Allu Arjun like never before. Sreeleela has killed it with her performance in the song. Brahmaji is also neat and so was Tarak Ponnappa in a negative role.
Technical Aspects: One of the biggest assets of the film is the action sequences which are made in a solid manner. The masses will love Allu Arjun’s stunts in a solid manner. The songs are set neatly and the bgm is also terrific.
There is one Jathara sequence which is the highlight of the film. The dialogues and screenplay by Sukumar is just amazing and arrets you especially in the second half.
Analysis: One of the biggest question was whether Pushpa 2 would live up to all the hype created and it does in a big way. Allu Arjun and Sukumar weave magic and will surely leave the audience wanting for more.
Also, there is an emotional angle in the film which the family audience will love it. The manner in which the drama is executed is the best part of the film.
Sukumar shows his class and does not leave logic behind. The world building is great and the manner in which all the dots are connected is showcased superbly in the sequel. He extracts solid performances.fdom his cast.
Yet another highlight of the film is Sukumar’s writing. The way he has highlighted the feminine angle in the film is just superb. The ladies in the film have been given solid importance in the storyline.
On the other hand, the manner in which the film ends with the lead to the third part is very good. Though the first half is a bit slow and lengthy, Sukumar has made sure that the fans will go gaga on the film as he has showcased Allu Arjun like never before.
Verdict: Overall, Pushpa 2 is a better product than Pushpa and is a perfect sequel. Fights, dance, romance and emotion, this film has it all and needs to be watched on the big screen for its mass masala entertainment.
