Sathruvu

Story:

Sathruvu is a 1991 Telugu-language crime thriller film from India, produced by M. S. Raju under Sumanth Art Productions and directed by Kodi Ramakrishna. Raj-Koti wrote the music, and it stars Venkatesh, Vijayashanti, and Kota Srinivasa Rao.

When it was released on January 2, 1991, the movie did well at the box office and garnered favorable reviews. The movie was recreated as Vijeta (1996) in Hindi.

Plot

Ashok is a junior lawyer for Durga Prasad, an advocate who consistently battles for justice, along with his two pals Raghava and Bhaskar. They are treated like their own children by Durga Prasad and his spouse Lakshmi.

Strong contractor Venkataratnam is in control of the entire system. Once, Venkataratnam deceives the government by claiming to have built a hostel for the impoverished but never actually building it—only displaying the documents as proof.

Assuming the case, Durga Prasad collects all the evidence against him. Venkataratnam frequently threatens Durga Prasad, but she refuses to comply. In front of the court, Venkataratnam finally murders Durga Prasad and his wife Lakshmi and destroys all the evidence.

Ashok gives Durga Prasad a last directive before passing away: he must win this case no matter what. Respecting his words, Ashok takes up the case, but as there is no proof, he is unable to get it admitted. Ashok publicly responds to Venkataratnam in court out of irritation. In the end, he is taken into custody and suspended from the court.
