Indian screenwriter Gandham Satyamurthy (24 May 1954 – 14 December 2015) primarily wrote for Telugu films. He contributed to over 400 films as a dialogue writer and over 90 films as a plot writer. He is the father of vocalist Sagar and film composer Devi Sri Prasad.
Among his notable films were Devatha (1982), Kirayi Kotigadu (1983), Abhilasha (1983), Challenge (1984), Jwala (1985), Srinivasa Kalyanam (1987), Khaidi No. 786 (1988), Bhale Donga (1989), Nari Nari Naduma Murari (1990), Chanti (1992), Bangaru Bullodu (1993), Matru Devo Bhava (1993), Pedarayudu (1995), Amma Donga (1995), and Pelli (1997). Chiranjeevi and Satyamurthy worked together on a number of his popular flicks.
On May 24, 1953/4, in Vedurupaka, Rayavaram mandal, East Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh, Gandham Satyamurthy was born. His B. Sc. degree was finished in Ramachandrapuram. After completing his B.Ed. studies at Machilipatnam’s Andhra National College of Education, he began working as a teacher.
