Seth Rogen

Biography:

Seth Rogen, born in 1982, is a Canadian-American actor, comedian, writer, and filmmaker. He’s known for his comedic roles and has received numerous award nominations.

Rogen began his career as a stand-up comedian in Vancouver, then moved to Los Angeles, where he worked on Judd Apatow’s television shows “Freaks and Geeks” and “Undeclared.” He also wrote for “Da Ali G Show,” earning an Emmy nomination. Apatow helped him transition to film.

Rogen’s film career includes roles in “Donnie Darko” and “The 40-Year-Old Virgin,” which he also co-produced. He starred in comedies like “Knocked Up,” “Superbad” (which he co-wrote), “Pineapple Express,” and “This Is the End” (which he co-directed). He’s also taken on dramatic roles in films such as “50/50,” “Steve Jobs,” and “The Fabelmans.” Additionally, he gained acclaim for his role in the miniseries “Pam & Tommy.”

Rogen has also had a successful voice acting career in animated films like “Shrek the Third,” the “Kung Fu Panda” series, “The Lion King” (2019), and “The Super Mario Bros. Movie.” He co-created and executive produced the TV series “Preacher” and “The Boys,” and “Invincible.”

Born and raised in Vancouver to a Jewish family, Rogen started performing comedy as a teenager. He co-wrote “Superbad” with Evan Goldberg during his high school years. He dropped out of high school to pursue his acting career.

His early work with Judd Apatow was crucial to his career, with Apatow mentoring and supporting him. Rogen’s breakthrough came with “Knocked Up.” He’s continued to write, produce, and direct films and television shows, often collaborating with Evan Goldberg.

Rogen has also produced and voiced animated films, and has branched out into other ventures such as a cannabis brand and ceramic art. He is married to Lauren Miller and has publicly discussed having mild Tourette syndrome.
