Captain Raju

Biography:

Raju Daniel, often known by his stage name Captain Raju, was an Indian actor and army officer who lived from June 27, 1950, to September 17, 2018. He performed in almost 600 films in a number of languages, such as English, Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada. His most well-known parts were those of a villain and a character. In addition, he directed two Malayalam films and made appearances in television commercials and serials. In Malayalam cinema, Captain Raju’s humorous professional assassin Pavanayi, who made an appearance in the film Nadodikkattu, became a local celebrity.

Raju was born at Omallur and was the third of K. G. Daniel and Annamma’s seven children. He has two brothers, George and Mohan, and four sisters, Elizabeth, Saji, Sophy, and Sudha. His parents were both Govt. UP School Omalloor teachers. He attended NSS English Medium School and Govt. UP School Omalloor for his elementary schooling. He participated in volleyball. He studied at Catholicate College in Pathanamthitta to earn a degree in zoology. Raju enlisted in the Indian Army at the age of 21 as a short-service commissioned officer after graduating. He was assigned to the Artillery Regiment and eventually attained the rank of captain.

He had a son named Ravi and was wed to Prameela. Although he was raised as a Christian, he respected other faiths and even paid respects to their shrines. Puthenpeedika, in Pathanamthitta, was his birthplace. He was noted as being incredibly lively and vivacious when he was younger. In addition, he participated actively in St. George Orthodox Church in Palarivattom. He made multiple comments of his desire to become a priest, as his parents had always wanted him to. He was an ardent follower of Orthodoxy, and he made significant contributions to both the Church and society.
