Theatre“Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara” is a 2013 Tamil-language comedy film directed by Gokul. The plot follows Kumaravel, fondly known as “Sumaar Moonji Kumar” (average-looking Kumar), whose life revolves around frequenting TASMAC bars and harboring an unrequited love for his neighbor, Kumudha. Kumudha’s father seeks assistance from the local gangster, Annachi, to resolve Kumar’s infatuation.
Parallelly, the story introduces Balakrishnan, a clever bank salesman who battles constant pressure from his boss, Poochandi, and his possessive girlfriend, Renu. The lives of these characters intertwine one fateful night, resulting in a series of comedic events leading up to the climax.
The film garnered positive reviews from critics and achieved commercial success upon its release on October 2, 2013. Its light-hearted humor and engaging storyline resonated well with audiences. Additionally, the film’s success led to a Kannada remake titled “Jackson” in 2015.
