Daniel Annie Pope, an accomplished Indian actor renowned for his contributions to Tamil cinema, initially navigated through uncredited and minor roles before achieving breakthrough recognition in the comedy film “Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara” (2013).
A Visual Communications graduate from Loyola College, Chennai, Daniel actively engaged in the college’s theater group and collaborated with Yani’s Pariksha group. In 2007, he set a Guinness World Record for the longest continuous theater play, lasting 72 hours, showcasing his dedication after rigorous training.
Daniel, recognized as the Best Mimer in South India in 2008, later ventured into teaching theater plays and mime in schools.
Despite small roles in films like “Polladhavan” (2007), “Paiyaa” (2010), and “Rowthiram” (2011), Daniel’s breakthrough in the film industry occurred with his notable role as Romba Sumar Moonji Kumaru in “Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara” (2013).
In the mid-2010s, his acting career gained momentum, and he became involved in projects such as “Massu Engira Masilamani” (2015), “Rangoon” (2017), “Maragadha Naanayam” (2017), and “Oru Nalla Naal Paathu Solren” (2018). While briefly working on the incomplete film “Indha Moonji OK Va” alongside Amzath Khan, Daniel expressed his aspiration to direct a film titled “Kuthirai Muttai,” inspired by Tamil folklore.
In 2018, Daniel participated in the second season of the reality television show Bigg Boss, exiting on day 77. Shortly after leaving the show, he tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend, Denisha, in 2018. The couple welcomed a baby boy in 2020, marking a new chapter in Daniel’s personal life.
