Manu Rishi Chadha, born on January 3, 1971, is an Indian actor, lyricist, scriptwriter, and dialogue writer known for his work in Hindi cinema. Rishi received extensive training under the guidance of theater director Arvind Gaur, a period that spanned six years. His notable achievements include winning the Filmfare Best Dialogue Award in 2009 for his work on “Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!” Additionally, he secured the IIFA Best Dialogue award for the same film.
Manu Rishi Chadha initiated his acting career in Delhi as a member of the Asmita theatre group. He actively participated in over 40 theatrical productions under the direction of Arvind Gaur. Some of the prominent plays he was involved in include Girish Karnad’s “Rakt Kalyan,” Mahesh Dattani’s “Final Solutions,” Swadesh Deepak’s “Court Martial,” William Shakespeare’s “Julius Caesar,” Dharamvir Bharati’s “Andha Yug,” Dario Fo’s “Accidental Death of an Anarchist,” and Eugene O’Neill’s “Desire Under the Elms.”
In 2001, he relocated to Mumbai, where he made his debut in the Bollywood film industry as an actor with “Saathiya,” portraying the character of a doctor. Over the course of his career, he has graced the silver screen in more than 25 films.
