Indian actor Janagaraj is well known for his supporting or comedic roles in over 200 Tamil-language films. Additionally, he appeared in a few Telugu, Hindi, and Malayalam movies.
Vadivelu and Muthulakshmi welcomed Janagaraj into the world in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. His ambition to play and perform led him to work part-time as a stage artist and theater artist after joining the Auditor General’s Office in 1976 as a Junior Division Clerk.
Delhi Ganesh, another AGS worker with whom he was friendly, is still his closest friend to this day. Janagaraj became an unofficial assistant to director Bharathiraja. He was given the opportunity to play a Brahmin in the same film by Bharathiraja, who noticed his talent while Kizhake Pogum Rail was being shot.
Subsequently n Puthiya Vaarpugal, Bharathiraja provided Janagaraj with an additional remarkable role, praying a young villain (G. Srinivasan). For that film, Janagaraj had performed in a baniyan and pants.
After landing a key role in Bharathiraja’s Nizhalgal in 1980, Janagaraj became one of the most sought-after comedians. He had collaborated with big-name actors and filmmakers like Mani Ratnam, K. Balachander, Suresh Krishna, and Sivakumar.
