Story:

“Manasantha Nuvve” is a Telugu romantic drama film from 2001, directed by V. N. Aditya. Uday Kiran and Reema Sen play the lead roles in this production, which was both written and produced by M. S. Raju. The musical score for the film was crafted by R. P. Patnaik. Like Uday Kiran’s earlier successes “Chitram” (2000) and “Nuvvu Nenu” (2001), this movie also achieved significant success, emerging as one of the major hits of 2001 in Telugu cinema.

The film was later remade in other languages, including Kannada as “Manasella Neene” (2002), in Hindi as “Jeena Sirf Merre Liye” (2002), and in Tamil as “Thithikudhe” (2003).

Plot

The story commences with two childhood companions residing in a village nestled within Araku Valley. Anu, the daughter of a prosperous government official, forms a close bond with Chanti, whose mother is deceased and lives in a humble dwelling adjacent to Anu’s residence. Despite Anu’s father disapproving of their friendship, they persist in spending time together. When Anu’s father is transferred to Vizag, they bid farewell, with Anu presenting Chanti with a musical alarm clock as a memento.

Following his mother’s demise from illness, Chanti becomes an orphan and begins selling breakfast to railway passengers to sustain himself. Moved by his integrity, a compassionate couple, Mohan Rao and Sudha, along with their daughter Rekha, adopt him and provide him with a better life. Renamed Venu, he assumes the role of their eldest child and assists in managing their Audio/Video café. Meanwhile, Anu pursues her education in Malaysia but remains nostalgic about her friendship with Chanti. Despite pressure from her parents to marry her cousin, she asserts her desire to wait, confessing her enduring affection for Chanti.

Upon returning to India, Anu endeavors to locate Chanti but is unsuccessful. She pens down their childhood friendship as a serialized story titled “Manasantha Nuvve” and persuades the editor of Swati magazine to publish it under the pseudonym Renu. Venu’s sister becomes an ardent fan of the serial and implores him to find and bring Renu home.

At a stage show, Renu reveals her true identity to Venu, eliciting joy from both parties. However, she refrains from immediately disclosing her identity, choosing instead to visit Venu’s home and engage with him incognito. Meanwhile, Anu’s father sabotages their relationship by informing Venu about Anu’s impending marriage to a minister’s son, threatening to jeopardize Venu’s sister’s wedding if he interferes. Fearing for his sister’s safety, Venu feigns affection for Renu, causing Anu anguish.

On the day of Venu’s sister’s wedding and Anu’s marriage, Anu learns the truth about Venu’s awareness of her identity and her father’s role in their separation. She rushes to Venu’s side, where he valiantly confronts Anu’s father’s henchmen but is injured and falls into a coma. Eventually, he awakens from his coma upon hearing the alarm sound gifted by Anu, and the couple reunites. Their families and friends ultimately support their love.
