Indian music composer, singer, actor, screenwriter, and director Ravindra Prasad Patnaik also works in Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada.Three Filmfare Awards and three Nandi Awards were given to him.
He has performed live shows all around the world.
With the intention of becoming a film director, Patnaik initially worked as the music director for the movie Neekosam. Teja, a former cinematographer who is now a filmmaker, offered Patnaik a break with Chitram, and in 2008, he made his directorial debut with the movie Andamaina Manasulo. Manalo Okadu, his sixth Telugu-language movie, was complete as of March 2016.With the 2011 film Keratam, his brother Gautam Patnaik made his directorial debut.
In addition to receiving the Andhra Pradesh state Nandi Award for the film Nuvvu Nenu in 2001, Patnaik won awards from various cultural organizations in and outside the state and country for his music. He won the Filmfare Award three times in a row for the films Nuvvu Nenu, Santosham, and Excuse Me. His movie Mnalo Okadu took up the third-place prize for Best Feature Film at the 2016 Nandi Awards.
In addition to performing songs of his own composition, he has performed over 300 songs for practically all of the main composers, including Ilayaraja.
He created Chaakra the Signature of Time, a groundbreaking international record on time signatures, for which he submitted a Grammy Award nomination.
He also acted in the 2004 Telugu movie Seenu Vasanthi Lakshmi, in which he played a blind singer and received a lot of praise for his great work. In 2010, he appeared in the movie Broker.
The experimental short film 22 minutes, which Patnaik directed for the first time, is comprised entirely of a single scene and an exciting script. Characters that are seen do not speak, and those that are heard do not appear in the experiment.
For the 2016 movie Tulasi Dalam, he performed, produced, directed, and created music.In 2016, after receiving a resoundingly great reception for his directorial film Broker on Corruption, he ventured to criticize the media’s ego and its ignorance in gathering news with his film.
