Plot
In Chinna Anaikatti, Raja takes over his father Inspector Srinivasan’s duty to protect Theekuchi Thirumugam and his daughter Madhavi from thugs hired by Shanmugapandi. For their safety, Raja lets them stay at his house. Thirumugam notices the growing romance between Raja and Madhavi and proposes their marriage to Srinivasan. However, Srinivasan slaps Thirumugam, causing an enraged Madhavi and Thirumugam to leave. Meanwhile, Kalyanasundaram, the owner of Goodbye Travels, faces marital troubles. His wife Gayathri and mother-in-law seek a divorce, accusing him of hiding his mortuary van business before marriage. Before the divorce proceedings, Kalyanasundaram invites them to his schoolmaster Dhandapani’s daughter’s wedding. Along the way, they encounter Shanmugam, Ramesh, their families, and Maya, Ramesh’s sister-in-law.
Raja, Kalyanasundaram, Ramesh, and Shanmugam, childhood friends, had once defeated Rajesh and his team in a relay race. At the wedding, Rajesh challenges them to a rematch. Meanwhile, Dhandapani reconciles with his estranged brother-in-law Pedha Perumal by arranging his son’s marriage to his daughter. However, Raja convinces Dhandapani to let his daughter marry her cousin, defeating Pedha Perumal’s son to ensure the union. Raja also orchestrates a play with his friend Dickey David to reunite Kalyanasundaram and Gayathri. During the relay, Raja intentionally loses to bring joy to Rajesh’s family.
Ramesh, a sub-collector, reveals he was falsely accused of bribery and imprisoned by Karukuvel Vishwanath, a corrupt media baron, in retaliation for shutting down his pharmaceutical company that caused 18 children’s deaths. Sathya, a handloom businessman, shares that a fire destroyed his shipments, with the insurance barely covering the damage. They suspect Vishwanath’s involvement, and Raja vows to help. Raja confronts Vishwanath in Chennai, demanding compensation of ₹52,02,650. Vishwanath refuses and frames Raja and an auto driver in a drug peddling case. The auto driver sacrifices himself to secure Raja’s release. Raja retaliates by exposing Inspector Shankar’s corruption and loots cannabis from the police station, mixing it into Minister Nallamuthu’s buttermilk. Intoxicated, Nallamuthu embarrasses himself in front of foreign delegates, leading to his removal. Vishwanath buys off 19 MLAs to claim the ministerial seat.
Raja discovers that the auto driver’s landlady is Madhavi, who initially refuses to let him stay. With the help of his friends, Raja finds accommodation. Vishwanath’s men kidnap Maya to frame Raja for Nallamuthu’s murder. Raja and Kalyanasundaram cleverly use Nallamuthu’s corpse to make it seem he’s alive, deceiving Vishwanath. During Vishwanath’s swearing-in ceremony, a video revealing Nallamuthu’s murder by Vishwanath’s henchmen is broadcast, canceling the ceremony.
Vishwanath then instigates a caste riot and plots an “accident” to kill Ramesh. Raja uncovers a plan to smuggle Vishwanath’s black money under the guise of a protest procession. Raja escapes with a van full of black money while villagers mislead Vishwanath’s men. In a final confrontation, Raja defeats Vishwanath, leading to his arrest. Ramesh is reinstated, the government compensates the victims, and Raja, choosing neither Maya nor Madhavi, decides to pursue a relationship with a doctor.
