Biography:

Uma Padmanabhan, an Indian film and television actress, embarked on her educational journey in Chennai, eventually earning her commerce degree from SIET, Nandanam. In 1993, when Sun TV was established, Uma saw an opportunity and applied for the role of a compere at the channel. Initially, she worked as a news reader before being selected to host the program titled “Vanakkam Tamizhagam.” This marked the beginning of her career in the world of television.

Subsequently, Uma Padmanabhan transitioned from hosting to acting, making her debut in the show “Micro Thodar-Oru Kudumbam Oru Ragasiyam.” Her acting prowess led her to feature in various television series such as “Veetukku Veedu Looty,” “Oru Thaayin Sabatham,” “Chellame Chellam,” “Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa Poove Poochudava,” “Priyamanaval,” and “Chithi 2.” In addition to her television roles, Uma also extended her talents to the silver screen, appearing in over 30 films in both the Tamil and Malayalam film industries.
