Biography:

Shakeela is a Tamil, Malayalam, and Telugu-language actress from India who has also worked as a politician and in pornographic films. She is an Indian National Congress member. Shakeela made her acting debut at the age of 18 in the 1995 movie Playgirls.

In Kodambakkam, Madras, India, a Muslim family welcomed Shakeela into the world. She failed the test for her high school diploma, which eventually forced her into acting.

She began her acting career by appearing in B movies and softcore porn. Kinnarathumbikal, one of her huge successes, launched her into the spotlight and caused a previously unheard-of enthusiasm among young people and the elderly for her. She performed a few contentious topless moments in her early films to gain attention. Almost all Indian languages were dubbed and released versions of her B movies. Foreign languages like Nepalese, Chinese, and Sinhala were dubs for her movie. Soft-porn films in India came to be known as “shakeela films” after she appeared in multiple films. Surayya Banu, Shakeela’s body double, performed her topless scenes.

Since 2003, Shakeela has played family characters in films in the Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada languages. She penned her autobiography in Malayalam, detailing her upbringing and background as well as her friendships with famous actors, politicians, and childhood pals.

Sheelavathi, the 250th movie in which she has appeared as a performer, began production in January 2018.
