TheatreRaj Rachakonda is the writer and director of the 2019 Telugu-language biographical film Mallesham, which is based on the life of Chintakindi Mallesham. In addition to Jhansi, debutante Ananya Nagalla, and Ananda Chakrapani in significant parts, Priyadarshi plays Mallesham in the movie. When it was released, the movie received favorable reviews from critics. According to Film Companion, Priyadarshi’s performance in the movie is among the “100 Greatest Performances of the Decade”. The Asu machine, invented by school dropout Chintakindi Mallesham, revolutionizes the weaving business. With this short film, director Raj made his feature film directing debut. He was inspired to make a movie about Chintakindi Mallesham after watching her TED address.
