Story:

“Gaalivaana” (translated as “Storm”) is a Telugu-language mystery crime-thriller web series released in 2022. Directed by Sharan Koppisetty and adapted from the story by Chandra Pemmaraju, the series is a collaboration between BBC Studios and Northstar Entertainment. It boasts an ensemble cast including Radhika Sarathkumar, Sai Kumar, Chandini Chowdary, Nandini Rai, Chaitanya Krishna, Thagubothu Ramesh, Sharanya Pradeep, and Ashritha Vemuganti.

Inspired by BBC’s original series “One of Us,” “Gaalivaana” premiered on April 14, 2022, on ZEE5. Additionally, it was dubbed and released in Tamil under the title “Kaarmegam.”

Plot

Ajay Varma and Geetha, who have been sweethearts since childhood, recently tied the knot and have returned from their honeymoon filled with optimism for what lies ahead. However, their promising young lives are tragically cut short by a brutal murder. This horrific event forces their previously divided families to come together in a tumult of anger and sorrow. When the individual responsible for Ajay and Geetha’s deaths resurfaces, the families are confronted with a fateful decision that will have grim repercussions for all involved. As they navigate the perilous path they’ve chosen, their journey takes unforeseen twists and turns, ultimately leading to a devastating conclusion.

Episode-1

Ajay Varma and Geetha, who were childhood sweethearts, are ruthlessly killed upon their return from their honeymoon. Shortly after, their grief-stricken families come to learn the identity of a severely injured stranger who unexpectedly appears at their doorsteps.

Epiosde-2

Nandini, a police officer from Vizag, is assigned to probe the murder of the young couple. Both families find themselves confronted with a fresh challenge as they come to terms with the realization that they are not immune to criminality.

Episode-3

As both families grapple with concealing the crime, there is someone within their midst keeping the truth hidden from everyone. Saraswathi comes across something that could either resolve everything or present a significant dilemma for her.

Episode-4

Savitri coerces Komarraju into keeping quiet about Srikanth’s visit to the cattle barn on the night Srinu passed away. Nandini is deeply disturbed upon learning about the young man’s death, which she inadvertently contributed to by supplying drugs. In another development, Ravindra Varma tragically takes his own life, and Marthand is apprehended by authorities.

Episode-5

David Raju cautions Nandini to aid in his city exit plan. Srikanth discloses a startling piece of information to the authorities. Nandini and the police unit uncover the elusive clue they’ve been pursuing.

Episode-6

Both families are apprehended by authorities. Eventually, Marthand admits to the murder. Sravani’s world crumbles as Shakantulamma unveils the truth to her.

Episode-7

Shakuntala exposes the repercussions of neglecting past events, leading to the downfall of two families. Saraswathi exhibits the fury of a mother. Tulasi collapses under the weight of circumstances, while Komarraju comes to terms with the realization that everything he held onto was untrue.
