Viduthalai Part 2

Story:

Vetrimaaran, who co-wrote the screenplay with B. Jeyamohan, is the director and co-producer of the 2024 Indian Tamil-language period crime thriller Viduthalai Part 2 (stylized as Viduthalai Part II). The film was produced by Grass Root Film Company and RS Infotainment. The second installment in a two-part adaptation of Jeyamohan’s short novel Thunaivan, it is a direct sequel to Viduthalai Part 1 (2023).

It centers on a confrontation between a police officer and a separatist organization leader. The following actors return from the first movie: Soori, Vijay Sethupathi, Manju Warrier, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Bhavani Sre, Rajiv Menon, Ilavarasu, Balaji Sakthivel, Saravana Subbiah, Chetan, and Munnar Ramesh.

In April 2021, Viduthalai was first revealed as a single movie. Beginning in December 2020, principal photography was primarily conducted in Chengalpattu and Sathyamangalam. But in September 2022, it was revealed that the movie will be divided into two sections. The filming of this portion is currently in progress, although the first part was finished by late December 2022. R. Velraj handled the cinematography, R. Ramar edited, and Ilaiyaraaja composed the music.

On January 31, 2024, Viduthalai Parts 1 and 2 were shown at the International Film Festival in Rotterdam. On December 20, 2024, the movie is expected to be released in theaters.
