Vidudala Part 2

Story:

Under the auspices of RS Infotainment and Grass Root Film Company, Vetrimaaran is the director and co-producer of the 2024 Indian Tamil-language period criminal thriller Viduthalai Part 2. He co-wrote the screenplay with B. Jeyamohan. The second installment of a two-part adaptation of Jeyamohan’s short novel Thunaivan (transl. Companion) is a direct sequel to Viduthalai Part 1 (2023).

It centers on a confrontation between a police officer and a separatist organization leader. In addition to Manju Warrier, Anurag Kashyap, and Ken Karunas joining the ensemble cast, Soori, Vijay Sethupathi, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Bhavani Sre, Rajiv Menon, Ilavarasu, Balaji Sakthivel, Saravana Subbiah, Chetan, and Munnar Ramesh return to their roles from the first movie.

The main photography for Viduthalai had started in December of the previous year, with the majority of the filming taking place in Sathyamangalam and Chengalpattu. The film was first revealed as a single in April of 2021. However, the movie’s two-part split was revealed in September 2022.

The first portion was finished by the end of December 2022, and this part was finished by the beginning of October 2024. Ilaiyaraaja created the film’s music, R. Velraj handled the cinematography, and R. Ramar edited it. On January 31, 2024, Viduthalai Part 2 and Part 1 were shown at the International Film Festival in Rotterdam. On December 20, 2024, the movie is expected to be released in theaters.
