Biography:

Priya, born Mamilla Shailaja Priya on May 20, 1981, is an Indian actress. She has acted in Hindi and Tamil-language movies in addition to Telugu feature films and television soap operas.

In 1998, she made her acting debut in the Chiranjeevi-starring film Master. She was given the Nandi Award by the Andhra Pradesh government for her performance in the television series Priya Sakhi. She has appeared in more over 200 Telugu and Hindi feature films, aside from soap operas, alongside actors such as Bala Krishna, Chiranjeevi, Pawan Kalyan, Venkatesh, Nagarjuna, and Amitabh Bachchan.

Mamilla Shailaja Priya, also known as Priya, was born in Bapatla, Andhra Pradesh, in 1981. Mamilla Venkateswar Rao and Mamilla Kusuma Kumari are her parents. She is one of three sisters and the third child. Her education was completed in Hyderabad, Telangana. She won the Miss College Pageant while still in college. Later, she began to pursue an acting career. She earned a B.A. after graduating. In 2002, Priya wed Venkata Kishore Machiraju. Nischay, their son, was conceived in 2003. They call Hyderabad home.

In 1997, she made her acting debut in the Chiranjeevi-starring film Master. She has acted in roughly 60 feature films in total, frequently sharing the screen with A-list actors from the Telugu cinema industry. She frequently accompanied practically all of her films’ main ladies. Master & Annayya, starring Chiranjeevi, Gokulamlo Seetha, starring Pawan Kalyan, Chandra Lekha, starring Nagarjuna, Raja Kumarudu, starring Mahesh Babu, Jayam Manadera, starring Venkatesh, and, most significantly, Soorya Vamsham, starring Amithabh Bachchan in Hindi, are just a few of her films.

Taamboolalu, Pedda Manushulu, Maa Vidaakulu, Greeku Veerudu, Sakutumba Saparivara Samethamga, Velugu Needalu, Dongaata, Chiru Navvutho, Harishchandra, Madhuri, Manavudu Danavudu, Sambhavam, and Kathi Kantha Rao are some of her other movies. She made an appearance in the highly appreciated Dhamarukam in 2012. In Prabhas’s Mirchi, she portrayed Richa Gangopadhyay’s mother.

Early in her career, she received the Nandi Award from the Andhra Pradesh government. She also received other honors, including the Vamsee Berkeley Award, the Swathi Cultural Award, and the Dasari Cultural Award. For her depiction of Bhuvaneshwari in Kotha Bangaaram, she was honored with the Cine Goers Award and the Gemini Ugadi Puraskaram.
