As the village head, Suryam is well-liked and revered by the populace, who even erected a statue of him at the center of the hamlet. Suryam has devoted his life to the well-being of the peasants. Maheswar Rao is a well-liked village leader who resides with his uncle’s family in another village. Chakram, his cousin, and Maheswar Rao are notoriously irritable.
In a far-off village, Suryam receives an invitation to operate a rice store. Following the ceremony, Suryam is traveling back to his hometown with his driver, Baabi. After that, Suryam pulls over to go get some fruits from the market. He loves to shop in nearby villages because no one in his community would accept money for his purchases, which makes him uneasy. In order to protect Prameela from an oncoming snake at the market, Suryam grabs her by the hand. Regretfully, it appears that only Ali and Suryam have observed the snake. Because Prameela believes Suryam is a rogue, she makes a huge deal out of the incident. He was publicly thrashed by Maheswara Rao and Chakram, who ignored his defense.
Trimurtulu, a land dealer and family friend, spots the hurt Suryam in that village. Suryam claims it was a simple miscommunication. Trimurtulu, who is furious, visits that hamlet and assures the people that they have made a grave error. He also cautions that if Suryam’s folks find out, there might be dire repercussions. Chakram and Maheswar Rao are sorry for the situation and acknowledge their error. Pretending that the injuries were caused by an accident, Suryam cautions his driver against discussing the embarrassing event with anyone.
The honorable Suryam tells the locals that he was in an automobile accident after returning home. That following evening, Baabi, who was enraged and upset by the episode, told the villagers about it while intoxicated. On the same night, Maheswara Roa rides a horse to Suryam’s village to demand an apology, following his uncle’s suggestion. Suryam’s mother beats him after he tells her about the incident, but Suryam intervenes. After pleading for an apology at Suryam’s feet, Maheswar is pardoned by the benevolent Suryam and goes back to his village.
After learning of the occurrence, the inhabitants of Suryam become enraged and, without telling Suryam, they all travel to Maheswar village with Aruvals (Billhooks). They burn their homes and cause chaos in Maheshwar village. Many villagers are killed in the disturbance, including Prameela’s mother and Maheswar’s family.
Finally visiting his hamlet the following morning, Maheswar observes the dead and devastation. Arriving at Suryam’s village, the district collector and police advise him to stay safe and promise to resolve the conflict between the two villages. Upon hearing of the disturbance that occurred the night before, Suryam becomes enraged with both his driver and the residents of his hamlet. In front of Suryam’s villagers, an enraged Maheswar demolishes Suryam’s statue because he feels deceived by Suryam and believes that the destruction of Maheswar’s village is part of Suryam’s clever scheme.
Prameela, Chakram, Narayana Rao, and Maheswar, the quod, promise to exact revenge on Suryam in a similarly crafty manner. Later, Suryam tries to give the victims financial support, but they turn him down. Prameela has no one left to live with, so Suryam proposes to marry her. However, Prameela views this as a chance to ruin Suryam. Chakram and Maheswar both believe this.
Following their marriage, Prameela learns about Suryam’s actual character—a kind man—and she grows into a decent wife. However, Maheswar and Chakram continue to pursue revenge against Suryam. The remainder of the plot is shaped by what happens afterward.
