TheatreThe Word in Heart, also known as Manasulo Maata, is a 1999 Telugu-language romantic drama film starring Jagapathi Babu, Srikanth, and Mahima Chaudhary. It was directed by S. V. Krishna Reddy. The movie is a remake of the 1998 film Kannedhirey Thondrinal.
Plot
The film opens with tycoon’s son Vasanth heading to Vizag for further schooling. At the train station, he falls in love with a pretty girl called Priya. He butts heads with a furious senior Shankar after admittance.
Following a series, they become soulmates. Vasanth quit after seeing Shankar once, when his mother expressed dissatisfaction. Afterwards, she comes to appreciate his amiable disposition, which has transformed the formerly aggressive Shankar into a tender and loving one.
Vasanth tells his fellow mate, Guru Murthy, about his love, and this gives him more bravery. By chance, he catches a sight of Priya in Vizag alone, and to his surprise, she turns out to be Shankar’s younger sister. Unaware that Vasanth is pursuing her, he tells Shankar about it, which he avoids.
Despite Shankar’s dislike of love, he walks to see his friend’s sweetheart at Vasanth’s suggestion. Vasanth seems at ease upon realizing that Priya is Shankar’s sister. Vasanth is currently in a state of dichotomy, yet he advances with Guru Murthy’s support.
When Priya becomes irate, Vasanth enters jail and stays silent to protect Priya’s dignity. When Priya begins to like Vasanth and is ready to make an announcement, Shankar clears him and compliments his prominence.
Vasanth witnesses Shankar being enraged at Raghu multiple times throughout that period. Thus, as Vasanth goes backward, he searches for the truth. Radhika is Shankar’s other sibling; at the time, Raghu was his best friend, much like Vasanth. When Raghu and Radhika elope at Radhika’s wedding, Shankar’s family is mortified, and his father passes away.
After hearing it, Vasanth vows to put his friendship ahead of love. In addition, Shankar restores Priya’s alliance while she is grieving; she goes to Vasanth and tells him she loves him, but he rejects her. As a result, she eats poison and is admitted to the hospital when Vasanth and Guru Murthy arrive.
At that point, Guru Murthy breaks out and declares the truth. Finally, an emotional Shankar realizes the significance of Vasanth’s sacrifice and is happy with their friendship. At last, the film closes happily with Shankar sanctioning Vasanth and Priya’s marriage.
