Indian actor and producer V. Jayaprakash appears in Tamil and Telugu-language movies. He entered the film industry in the early 2000s as a producer, releasing many movies under his GJ Cinema label. In 2007, he made the transition to acting with Cheran’s Mayakannadi. He thereafter earned more success as a character actor, playing a range of supporting characters. His most noteworthy roles can be seen in the films Pasanga (2009), Naadodigal (2009), Naan Mahaan Alla (2010), Yuddham Sei (2011), Mankatha (2011), Moodar Koodam (2013), and Pannaiyarum Padminiyum (2014).
Jayaprakash is an Indian native of Sirkazhi, Tamil Nadu. Prior to working in the film industry, he held positions in a variety of industries, including dairy farming, the oil sector, transportation, and billiards.[2]
He began acting when he was 45.[2] Mayakannadi, his debut movie, came out in 2007, and it led to numerous opportunities for him as an actor.His portrayal of Chokkalingam, the village schoolteacher in Company Production’s lauded Pasanga, is regarded as his breakout performance, for which he garnered praise and multiple prizes.[4] In addition to Pasanga, he has appeared in other commercially successful projects like Naadodigal, Vamsam, Naan Mahaan Alla, Bale Pandiya, Yudham Sei, and Mankatha in prominent supporting parts. He also made a cameo in Marina by Pandiraj.[5] With Karthikeya (2014), he made his Telugu film debut. He afterwards participated in a number more Telugu movies, including Sarrainodu (2016) and Waltair Veerayya (2023).
