Story:

Republic is a 2021 Telugu-language Political Social Drama film produced by Zed Studios and JB Entertainments, written and directed by Deva Katta. Sai Tej, Aishwarya Rajesh, Jagapathi Babu, and Ramya Krishna are among the film’s stars. The story revolves around Panja Abhiram (Tej), an IAS officer who fights corruption in the government and the executive branch. The third movie in Deva Katta’s trilogy about society, which presents society from the viewpoint of a bureaucrat, is this one.

The film’s main photography started in the middle of 2020 and finished in February 2021, with a brief break caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The film’s soundtrack was composed by Mani Sharma, while M. Sukumar and Praveen K. L. handled the film’s photography and editing, respectively. Republic received positive reviews when it debuted in theatres on October 1, 2021, but the film did poorly at the box office.

Telleru Lake, one of India’s largest freshwater lakes in 1970, is essential for farming and fishing. Buildings on fishing farms, mostly owned by ‘Visakha’ Vani, have surrounded the lake for more than 40 years, polluting it in the process.

The narrative then turns to Panja Abhiram, an intelligent but mischievous young man from Eluru who prefers society to be honest and truthful because he has seen corruption in his own family—his father Panja Dashrath is a dishonest government official—and therefore despises him. His stellar performance on multiple exams secures him a spot at MIT. But after learning that his father was involved in an electoral rigging, he resolves to take a closer look at the political system and try to alter it.

Concurrently, Abhi meets Myra Hansen, an NRI who is looking for her brother Dr. Varun Hansen, who has gone missing and is rumoured to have gotten into a fight with a local goon named Guna. In the meantime, Vani establishes a new political party, wins a landslide, and installs her son Indukuri Vishnu Vardan as Andhra Pradesh’s next chief minister, earning her the reputation of a kingmaker. Subsequently, Abhi encounters Mani, an auto driver, and his father who are battling Vani for justice.
