TheatreThe 2019 Telugu romantic comedy film Mr. Majnu, also known as Mr. Lover Boy, is written and directed by Venky Atluri and produced by B. V. S. N. Prasad under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra.[3] The lead actors in the movie are Nidhhi Agerwal and Akhil Akkineni. Reviews of the movie were mixed when it first came out; some praised the soundtrack and the performances by Akhil and Nidhhi, while others criticised the story. At the box office, the movie was a commercial failure.
Additionally, the movie had been dubbed in Tamil as Maanidhan and in Hindi, Kannada, and Tamil under the same title. The 2010 Tamil film Theeradha Vilaiyattu Pillai served as inspiration for the Odia remake of the movie, which starred Babushaan Mohanty and Divyadisha Mohanty in the lead roles.
Vicky, also known as Vikram Krishna, is a charming young man who has never been in a committed relationship and flirts with everyone. A young woman named Nikitha, also known as Nikki, longs to have a husband who resembles Lord Ram. On her way to work one day, she witnesses a group of women on strike to prevent Vicky from being suspended after the university dean exposed her for having an affair with her daughter.
Nikki describes Vicky as a “dangerous character” after becoming disgusted upon learning about him. Nikki is instructed to go shopping with Vicky because her brother is getting married to Vicky’s younger sister. Reluctantly, Nikki goes shopping with him. Nikki gradually comes to see Vicky’s tender side and develops feelings for him.She asks Vicky to date her for two months after declaring her love for him. After some hesitation, Vicky agrees and instructs her to keep the two families in the dark. Vikky’s overzealous relationship quickly causes her great discomfort. She tries to alter his way of life. By accident, Nikki tells both families about their relationship. All of a sudden, they plan a marriage. Vikky confides in his closest friend Chitti about his struggles. After overhearing their chat, Nikki decides to end their relationship in front of everyone because she feels that he is not happy with her and that she is nothing more than a burden for Vicky.
Vicky realises he really loves Nikki after she departs for London, so he goes there to show her how much he cares. When Vicky gets to London, he finds out that Nikki has made everyone in the colony where she lives aware of him, and because he is the favourite, everyone in the colony—including his uncle and Nikki’s friends—hates him. Pulla Rao, who resides in the same colony, introduces him to them as Krishna and begins making friends with her family. Vicky makes several attempts to express his love for her, but she rejects him every time. Vicky discovers that Nikki is adamant and won’t accept him back after the rejection.After telling Nikki’s family the truth, he heads to the airport to board a flight to India.
It is through her family that Nikki realises her error and Vicky’s love for her. Nikki quickly heads to the airport after realising her error and tries to stop Vicky from leaving London. Hastily parking one car while damaging the other, Nikki looks around frantically for Vicky. Nikki sees Vicky conversing with the girl he’s already made out with. Nikki walks over and gives that girl a slap in a fit of rage. She was there, Vicky tells her, to extend an invitation to her wedding. They reconcile and get married after sorting out all the misunderstandings. Later, after Nikki damages the car, the police file a case against her. Nikki makes an effort to persuade the officer that it was an accident.
