Ghibran

Biography:

Ghibran was raised in Coimbatore, where he was born. His family moved to Chennai while he was in the ninth grade as a result of his father suffering a significant economic loss. In order to provide for his family, he had to stop his education and work a number of jobs.

Ghibran claimed that when he was eight or ten years old, Yanni’s performance on television sparked his interest in music. He had enrolled in a music college but had to leave due to family obligations. Instead, he took keyboard lessons and studied part-time with Paul Augustine.

He earned his RSA Grade 8 in piano and music theory from Trinity College London and a degree in classical composition and cinema score from the LASALLE College of the Arts in Singapore under Australian Composer Lindsay Vickery. He accepted a job offer as an internal composer for animations and spent two years there. He established his own studio in 2000, and during the following six years, he wrote music for approximately 700 commercials.

He composed music for media companies part-time in Singapore to help pay his bills. He worked with the Singapore wood and percussion instruments orchestra after finishing his efforts. After that, he went back to India, but there were few commercials for him to work on.

Film Career:
Ghibran was chosen by director A. Sarkunam to write the score for Vaagai Sooda Vaa. The Times of India’s N. Venkateswaran said of the soundtrack, “M Ghibran joins the list of debut composers who have impressed in recent years. He stands out as a musician to watch out for thanks to the music score, which enhances the film. The Hindu’s Malathi Rangarajan stated, “Music is another highlight. Your ears will continue to ring with M. Gibran’s numbers long after you leave the theatre. Vaagai Sooda Vaa is a superb album with great songs, according to Rajagopalan Badrinarayanan of musicperk.com. Gibran did a fantastic job with the musical composition for his debut film.

The album will undoubtedly reorder the charts currently in circulation. After Vaagai Sooda Vaa, Ghibran claimed that he was contacted by a number of directors about additional projects; nevertheless, he chose to take a pause in order to hunt for an urban-based script.

Ghibran wrote the music for the 2013 films Naiyaandi, Kutti Puli, and Vatthikuchi. Thirumanam Ennum Nikkah and Amara Kaaviyam were two of his 2014 releases. Run Raja Run, his debut Telugu film, was also released. According to Behindwoods.com, the songs were “in the top of the charts for a long time” and his performance in the movie “garnered great appreciation from the fans.”
Kamal Haasan offered him the opportunity to compose the soundtrack for Vishwaroopam II in addition to his upcoming Uttama Villain and Papanasam, the Tamil version of Drishyam.

Ghibran, who owns a studio in Chennai, currently travels back and forth between Chennai, Mumbai, and Singapore for all of his recording projects.
