Chinni Jayanth

Biography:

Chinni Jayanth, originally known as Krishnamurthy Narayanan, is a versatile Indian personality involved in various aspects of the entertainment industry. He is a renowned film director, producer, comedian, actor, and mimicry artist who has played diverse roles in Tamil cinema, including lead, character, and supporting roles. In addition to his film career, he is a well-known television figure, having hosted popular shows like “Sagalai Vs Ragalai,” “Kalakka Povathu Yaar,” and “Asathapovathu Yaaru” on Sun TV in Chennai.

Chinni Jayanth has received recognition for his contributions to the world of cinema and entertainment. He was honored with the Kalaimamani award by the Government of Tamil Nadu for his outstanding achievements in the film industry. He was presented with this prestigious award by the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu in a grand ceremony held at Valluvar Kottam.

Furthermore, in acknowledgment of his significant contributions to cinema, mimicry, stage performances, and social service, Chinni Jayanth was awarded an honorary doctorate by The Open International University of Alternate Medicine on December 29, 2013.

Chinni Jayanth is an alumnus of the Ramakrishna Mission Students Home in Chennai and pursued his education at New College, Royapettah. He further honed his skills by completing an acting course, Diploma in Film Technology (DFTech), at the Film and Television Institute of Tamil Nadu in Taramani.
