Aparna Vinod, an Indian actress, stepped into the film industry with her debut in 2015 through the Malayalam film “Njan Ninnodu Koodeyundu.” Born in Ernakulam, Kerala, she is the daughter of entrepreneur Vinod P, who is a descendant of Padmanaban Palpu, and outfitter/designer Vaiga Sukumar. During her early education, she attended St. Thomas Residential School and later completed her 10th standard at Fr. Mathew Alakalam Public School in Chalakudy. Her academic journey concluded with graduation from Saraswathi Vidyalaya in Trivandrum.
Aparna pursued a B.Sc. in Psychology from Sahrdaya College of Advanced Studies under the University of Calicut. Further enhancing her academic background, she obtained an M.Sc. in Psychology from Presidency College in Madras.
On November 28, 2022, Aparna entered a new chapter in her life by marrying Rinil Raj in Kozhikode, Kerala.
In her cinematic journey, she made her debut in 2015 in the Malayalam film industry with “Njan Ninnodu Koodeyundu,” where she shared the screen with Siddharth Bharathan and Vinay Forrt. Subsequently, she took on the lead female role in “Kohinoor” alongside Asif Ali.
Following the success of “Kohinoor,” Aparna ventured into the Tamil film industry with a minor role in a Vijay movie. Her portrayal involved playing a supportive friend of the female lead, Keerthy Suresh, in the 2017 Tamil film “Bhairavaa,” directed by the experienced Tamil Director Bharathan.
In addition to her film career, Aparna showcased her acting prowess in the dramatic arts. At the Zonal and University Level arts festival organized by the University of Calicut in 2017, she took on a central role in a play inspired by the Greek tragedy “Oedipus Rex.” Her portrayal spanned various life stages, from a teenage girl to a revolutionary character, earning her widespread acclaim. This dedication led to two university-level awards, including the recognition of Best Actress in a Leading Role for English Drama. Her remarkable method acting skills and dedication were commended by critics.
Further recognition followed in January 2018 when Aparna received the title of Best Actress in a Leading Role at the Zonal Level from the University of Calicut. This honor stemmed from her exceptional performance in the critically acclaimed English play “Road To Redemption.” The play drew inspiration from works like Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” and Oscar Wilde’s “The Happy Prince,” with its central theme delving into the protagonist’s struggle with the Oedipus Complex.
